Chanel Classic 2.55
![]() |
| Coco Chanel with black classic flap |
In the 1920s, Coco Chanel became tired of having to carry her handbags in her arms and decided to design a handbag that freed up her hands. Inspired by the straps found on soldiers’ bags, she added thin straps and introduced the resulting design to the market in 1929. After her successful comeback to the fashion industry in 1954, Chanel decided to update her handbag for the modern woman. The resulting design was called 2.55 after the date of creation, February 1955. The Chanel 2.55 bag is iconic to the Chanel brand and it is made from silk, fur, calfskin or lambskin. The iconic quilting on the bag was inspired by the jackets that jockeys wore.
In February 2005, Karl Lagerfeld re-made the 2.55 – exactly as Coco Chanel had made in 1955, in commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the 2.55. It came to be known as the Reissue. Technically the term Reissue should only be used for the bags that were made to commemorate the original – so only those in 2005. However, it has become convenient to call all 2.55s that resemble the original 2.55 Reissue.
During the years, there have many many variations to the 2.55 design, including the material of the bag and the chain. Over the years, the bag has come with an entirely metal chain and an interwoven leather chain. The bag also comes in a single and double flap and the closure of the bag varies between the original mademoiselle lock and the interlocking cc. The bag commonly referred to as the classic flap is association with the flap with the interlocking CC closure and leather interwoven chain.
Every women love Birkin

The Birkin bag is a handmade purse by Hermes and named after actress and singer Jane Birkin. The bag is a symbol of wealth due to its high price and elusiveness to the public. In 1981, Hermes chief executive Jean-Louis Dumas was seated next to Jane Birkin on a flight from Paris to London. She had just placed her straw bag in the overhead compartment of her seat, but the contents fell to the ground, leaving her to scramble to replace the contents. Birkin explained to Dumas that it had been difficult to find a leather weekend bag she liked. In 1984, he created a black supple leather bag for her based on an 1892 design. she used the bag for herself then later changed her mind. Nevertheless, the bag has since become an icon.
Although Birkin bag is free of logos, it is one of the most recognized bags in the fashion industry and by the public. Its prices range from $ 9,000 to & 150,000. It is highly coveted and, for several years, was reputed for having a waiting list of up to 6 years - the longest wait for any bag in the history. As a result of the strong demand, the Birkin bag has a high reselling value in many countries especially Asia. In April 2010, Hermes announced that the waiting list would no longer exist, implying that it is potentially available to all.

Why your handbags gets messy so quickly?
You start out with good intentions, clean and organize your items carefully and always make sure that you only add in the things you need to keep in your bag. However, have you ever wondered why your purse continues to fill up with junk few days after you have cleaned your purse , no matter how hard you try to keep in clean. It has become noticeably heavier, with items crammed in every nook and cranny.
Why is it that women's handbags get messy so quickly?
Many women, in the quest for better money management, shove purchase receipts into their purses without the slightest thought. The initial intent is to grab up the receipts and record the amounts at the end of the day so as to balance one's account. But somehow, that just never seems to happen. Or perhaps you've told yourself to hold onto your receipt, lest you need to return the item for a refund or exchange. These are all valid reasons for keeping receipts. The problem is that they never really end up where they're supposed to. Your purchased items rarely need to be returned, and those little pieces of paper end up in what could be called the Receipt Graveyard at the bottom of your handbag.
The Anti-Litterbug
There is also the chance that you're the one of those people who can't stand littering, or having a car full of trash. Thus, every single piece of personal litter goes right into one of the compartment in your handbag. And it seems that you're always too far away from a trash can to toss away those other bits of debris.
Handbags are Getting Bigger and Bigger
You can probably credit your favourite celebrities for reintroducing the trend of the big handbag. We will never really know what's in them. We only know that they're huge and fabulous. With bags being made larger and larger, the consumer has larger space to add things. In short, the bigger the purse, the more items women toss into them.
Bags Now Have More Compartments
The proliferation of technological gadgets dictates that women need snug places to keep them. Thus, handbag manufacturers have made sure that their bags always have more compartments for everything. Install more compartments, and women will find more ways to be disorganized.
Women on the Go
Today's modern woman has more things to do outside of the home than she does inside of it. Thus, she finds that the handbag she carries must keep up with her lifestyle. Bags these days must not only handle the essentials of womanhood but also the trappings of her daily routine. Most of the items like toiletries and an assortment of other 'necessities' must go into the bag. With less time to organize, it is quite natural that the bags would become cluttered with stuff.

Styling Job for Esquire Stage Magazine HK
Few months back, when I was still doing my internship in Malaysia after my Advanced Diploma in Fashion Marketing, I was given an opportunity to style for Esquire Stage Magazine Hong Kong. No doubt, it was such a great honour for me. As a fresh bee in the fashion industry, I think I would never have this opportunity so soon, and I know that I need to appreciate and try my very best to make it a good one.
Through this, I fully understand the work and responsibility as a stylist. It was such a hard work because you need to visit store by store in the shopping mall to loan whatever clothing you need in the shoot or arrange to send from overseas.
Introduce you the team members for this fashion shoot. Jez- the fashion coordinator, Kenzy- the assistant photographer, not to forget, me as a stylist. Below are some behind-the-scenes.
The whole process of the shoot was extremely smooth and it was really fun working with the members and the models. They are just so professional. After all, this is my very first styling job, I was inevitably worry about the result will be bad, luckily it turns out great and the editor of the magazine loves that so much. It was such a great experience for me, with my main interests being as a stylist, I can definitely foresee myself in the fashion industry. Below are some of the final photos that will be published in the magazine.

Why do women love Louboutins ?
Women love heels and they especially love Louboutins. But what is so special about Louboutins? Christian Louboutin says:
"Sensations a woman has while wearing his shoes are close to those she experiences while having an orgasm."
Christian Louboutin added that women liked his shoes so much they were ready to suffer the pain and discomfort caused by wearing those shoes.
"There is an element of seduction in shoes that doesn’t exist for men. A woman can be sexy, charming, witty or shy with her shoes. Shoes for men are about elegance or wealth, they are not playing with the inner character. That is why women are happy to wear painful shoes."
When buying shoes, women always choose between the style and comfort. So, there is a need of women wanting to own a pair of stylish yet comfortable shoes.
